Setting the foundation

Our 2021 team was a hard working, extremely talented team that grew so much throughout the season. We came in 2nd in the CCC and came together at the right time to make the Class L Semi-Finals in the playoffs. We lost 1 goal heartbreakers to Conard and Glastonbury, however those games ended up paying off as we beat Farmington and Amity in the playoffs to have a home game against Fairfield Ludlowe in the Class L Semi-finals. Our season ended there but what an incredible accomplishment given that this was the first time (Covid took the first year) the players had been on the field with the new coaching staff and was the first team in a very long time at Simsbury to get that far in the playoffs. The team really set the foundation for a strong tradition of success at Simsbury. We had 4 girls make All CCC Conference in Allie Drees, Katie Perlitz, Reece Willison and Elena Bontatibus. We also had 1 selection for All-State second team in Elena Bontatibus. This was the first season after Covid and it felt great to be out on the field again and these girls really rose to the occasion. Our 2021 Captains were Allie Drees, Amy Feingold and Maggie Brian.
