2026 Team wins CCC Championship and repeats CIAC Championship
The 2026 season concluded with the girls’ lacrosse team capturing Simsbury High School’s second consecutive CIAC State Championship. The Trojans finished with an outstanding 20-1 overall record, including a 15-1 mark during the regular season.
Simsbury returned to the CCC Championship Game in 2026 and avenged its only regular-season loss, defeating Conard 9-3 after falling to the Chieftains 9-8 earlier in the year. Competing in Class L, Simsbury held the No. 1 ranking throughout the entire season while playing one of the toughest schedules in the state.
The Trojans’ postseason run included victories over Farmington in the quarterfinals, Masuk in the semifinals, and Cheshire in the State Championship Game, where they secured a 10-7 victory. Simsbury dominated throughout the tournament, outscoring its three playoff opponents by a combined margin of 42-16.
The team earned significant individual recognition, placing six players on the All-CCC team and six players on the First Team All-State squad: Ellie Kirk (defense), Maddie Francis (attack), Anna Stockwell (midfield), Charlotte Diviney (midfield), Sofia Babigian (defense), and Olivia Petron (attack). For the first time in program history, Simsbury also had two USA Lacrosse All-Americans in the same season: senior Anna Stockwell and junior Charlotte Diviney.
Several players reached major career milestones during the season. Maddie Francis and Anna Stockwell both surpassed 100 career goals, while Anna also eclipsed 200 career points. Jamison Hallam reached the 100-point milestone, and Charlotte Diviney surpassed both 300 career points and 200 career goals.
Defensively, the 2026 team established a new standard for the program. The Trojans allowed only one opponent to score 10 or more goals all season and surrendered just 82 goals during the 16-game regular season and 104 goals across 21 total games—both program bests. Offensively, Simsbury showcased impressive balance and depth, with 14 different players recording at least one point. The team scored 216 goals during the regular season, averaging 13.5 goals per game.
The team was led by captains Anna Stockwell, Maddie Francis, and Giulia Danielsen, whose leadership helped guide the Trojans to another historic championship season.
